FDA Approved Poly Bags

These bags are commonly referred to as USDA approved bags or FDA approved plastic or poly food bags, sheeting, and tubing. In order to be considered FDA approved for direct contact with food, pharmaceuticals, and other consumable products, these bags must meet strict criteria. While most trash bags do not have FDA approval, several other products do meet the FDA’s requirements.
To qualify as FDA approved, the materials used in production (also known as “Food Grade”) must be new and not previously processed or reprocessed. The manufacturing facility must also adhere to the FDA’s standards, and the packaging should provide adequate protection to ensure the safe arrival of the product without any contamination.
